East of Scotland Girls Summer Meeting Championship

Laura Aitken (Falkirk Tryst) led the qualifiers with an 82 on the better inward half from Lesley Rolland (Dunfermline) in the East of Scotland Girls Championship at Turnhouse this morning. Hannah Harvey (St Regulus) won the best silver handicap prize with a nett 69, closely followed by Lesley Rolland with a nett 70. Amanda Forrest (Broomieknowe) took the Bronze handicap prize with a net 72. The CSS matched the SSS at 73.

The top eight scratch scores qualified for the matchplay stages.

In the first round of the matchplay, the top seed Laura Aitken was all square with Stephanie Crolla (Longniddry) at the turn and pulled away to win by 2&1. Amanda Edwards (Liberton) beat Gillian Davidson (Saline) by a similar margin. The two youngest qualifiers met each other in the third match where Jane Turner (Glencorse) managed to beat Hannah Harvey (St Regulus) by 3&2). In the final tie, second seed, Lesley Rolland (Dunfermline) beat Catherine Paterson (Longniddry) by 5&4.

The semi-finals are at 9:30am tomorrow (Tuesday) with the final at 2:00pm.
