Hannah Harvey wins Autumn Meeting
Hannah Harvey, a 15-year old pupil at St Leonards School, St Andrews, won the Autumn Meeting of the East of Scotland Girls Golfing Association at Balbirnie Park this afternoon, with a two-over-par scratch 73, three shots ahead of East of Scotland Girls' Champion Jane Turner (Mortonhall) who carded a 76.
Hannah's outward half of 33 included birdies at the first and fifth, and she continued to be two under par until an unfortunate run of five bogeys from the 13th rather spoilt her card. A birdie four at the last was a redeeming feature.
It was a good scoring day for the higher handicap girls, and a net 64 from 25 handicap Cathy Wood from Linlithgow should see her handicap tumbling down. A net 67 from 17 handicap Gillian Simpson (Baberton) won the Under 14 category handicap prize, and Jane Turner won the Under 18 handicap prize with a 76 less 3 net 73.
The CSS came down one stroke to 70
