Scotland girls no better than the boys
SCOTLAND'S boys finished last of four with three defeats in their home
internationals at Blairgowrie last week and Scotland's girls did no better
at The Hermitage Golf Club, near Dublin over the past three days.
The girls' home internationals title was won by England with three wins
while Scotland came last after being thrashed 7 1/2-1 1/2 by England and
then going down by a similar margin to Ireland on Thursday.
Scottish girls champion Laura Walker from Nairn Dunbar was not fielded
in the foursomes which Scotland lost 2-1 and Scottish Under-21 girls title-winner
at Baberton recently, Kelly Brotherton (Tulliallan), did not get a game
in the final session of singles of which Ireland won five with the other
being halved.
Results:
Day 1: Ireland 3 1/2, England 5 1/2; Scotland 3 1/2, Wales 5 1/2.
Day 2: Scotland 1 1/2, England 7 1/2; Wales 3, Ireland 6.
Day 3: IRELAND 7 1/2, SCOTLAND 1 1/2
Foursomes: T Delaney & K Delaney beat J Wilson & G Webster 4 and
2; H Nolan & S O'Sullivan beat L Hendry & K Brotherton 7 and 5;
C Tucker & A Kingston lost to D Dewar & C-M Carlton 6 and 4 (2-1).
Singles: Nolan beat Wilson 3 and 2, K Delaney beat Dewar 5 and 3, O'Suyllivan
beat L Walker 4 and 3, T Delaney beat Webster 6 and 4, D-M Conaty halved
with K O'Sullivan, Tucker beat Carlton 1 hole (5 1/2-1/2).
