LAURA EASTWOOD WINS ENGLISH GIRLS TITLE
The final of the English Girls' Championship between Laura Eastwood
(Yelverton) and Natalie Haywood (Rotherham) was delayed by 30 minutes
to allow the greens staff extra time to work on the course following
torrential overnight rain at Fairhaven.
Once under way, Laura birdied the first and immediately went two up.
Three up after nine, she lost the tenth and fifteenth to be back to
one up. The sixteenth & seventeenth were halved but a par 5 at the
last was enough for her to win one up.
The Flight Two final was won by Katharine Arnold (Scarborough South
Cliff who defeated Sarah Purdy (Stoke Rochford) 3/2.
