D&A have 100% record
Day 2
Dunbartonshire & Argyll scored a 5-4 win over Renfrewshire at Cochrane
Castle GC yesterday (Tuesday) to be the only team with a 100 per cent
record with one day's play left in the West Division women's inter-county
team championship.
Lanarkshire, the defending champions, beat Ayrshire 6-3 in the other match.
Dunbartonshire & Argyll shared the foursomes with Renfrewshire but
then had key wins from county champion Claire McNeil (6 and 4 over Sarah
Harman), Anne Laing (2 and 1 against Karen Fitzgerald) and Sarah Bishop
(one hole against Gillian McGinley).
A halved match for Claire Hargan with Donna Jackson won Dunbartonshire
& Argyll the singles by a 3 1/2-2 1/2 margin and puts them in a strong
position for the final match against Lanarkshire.
Ayrshire county champion Sharon Lambie had a square match with British
girls champion Clare Queen, the Lanarkshire title-holder, in the No 1
singles tie of the other match. Ayrshire's singles winners were Fiona
