County Websites
I've been asked by one or two Counties about how they can set up
a website. Website development and maintenance can be quite a hassle
(ask Carol Fell of Renfrewshire and she'll agree - she's revamped
the Renfrewshire site.. have a
look - Well done Carol!)
Back to basics: What you want is something simple, with no computer
jargon like HTML, FTP etc. to confuse you. A site where you can
get your messages to members, publish draws and relay results, including
that all important CSS.
Try this.... I've set up an Example
Ladies County Golf Association Website which you can all look
at and have a go. (login is countysec password is countypass)
You type (or cut and paste) simple text into a box, no special web-editing
software is needed. Click on "Preview your post", and
then, if you are happy, "Publish". It allows you to upload
files, so if your draw is in Excel you can include the file in your
message. Everyone with Excel will be able to download it and read
it.
Have a look, and, if your County is interested, I can personalise
it for you, and give your County a link in the left hand index of
this website, so that your members can find it easily. Let
me know what you think.
PS. No charge!
