NEWS RELEASE ISSUED BY THE ENGLISH WOMEN'S GOLF ASSOCIATION

Two national girls’ champions are included in the English Women’s Golf Association squad for the Scottish Under-16 girls' open stroke-play championship at Strathmore Golf Centre near Blairgowrie, Perthshire from April 8-9.
They are English Under-15 champion Elizabeth Mallett (Sutton Coldfield Ladies), pictured by Cal Carson Golf Agency, and the Under-13 title-holder, Georgia Hall (Ferndown). They are joined by: Bronte Law, (Bramhall), Emily Taylor (Royal Lytham & St Annes), Lauren Taylor (Woburn) and Brogan Townend, (Pleasington).
The teams for the Nations Cup competition are:
A – Bronte Law, Elizabeth Mallett and Lauren Taylor.
B – Georgia Hall, Emily Taylor, Brogan Townend.
In the 2009 championship, Dorset’s Hayley Davis (Ferndown) won the individual title and the England teams were first and second in the Nations Cup.
The squad:
Elizabeth Mallett, 15, won the 2009 English U15 title and was also runner-up at the British girls’ championship. She is a past winner of the English U16 schools’ title.
Georgia Hall, 13, won last year’s English U13 title and was runner-up in the South West girls’ championship. At the age of 12 she represented Dorset at County Finals.
Bronte Law, 15, is the English U18 strokeplay champion, the North of England U16 champion, the Northern girls’ champion and already this year has retained the Andalucia Junior European Open title.
Emily Taylor, 15, is the Lancashire ladies’ champion and has twice been runner-up in the English U15 championship. She represented England in last year’s European Young Masters.
Lauren Taylor, 15, is an England girl international and a past winner of the English U15 championship and the English U18 strokeplay title
Brogan Townend, 15, won the 2009 Faldo Series U16 title and was in Lancashire’s winning team at County Finals.
All the players are member of EWGA training squads.
