Monday's weather forecast not looking good with a 95% chance of rain & maximum temperature of 10 degrees!
Today (Sunday) we have had a mixture of sunshine and clouds but dry and a lot warmer than Saturday with the temperature now around 14 degrees.
On Saturday we had intermittent rain showers all day. It was bitterly cold by south-east Spanish standards with the daytime temperature not rising above four degrees. This resulted in snow falling on the surrounding mountains!
Some 20 pairs reluctantly braved the conditions for the Festival's curtain-raising four-ball, better-ball Stableford competition.

Men's Pairing Handicap Winners – Billy Sim & Frank Knighton – 36 points
Ladies' Pairing Handicap Winners – Holly Clyburn (Woodhall Spa) & Charlie Douglass (Brocket Hall) – 32 points
Mixed Pair Handicap Winners – David Saul & Jessica Chapman (Leicestershire) – 38 points
Mixed Pair Handicap runners-up - Simon Brierley & Daisy Dyer (Chigwell) – 35 points (on countback)
