CAROL WILSON SLASHES THREE SHOTS
OFF MURCAR LINKS WOMEN'S RECORD
Murcar Links Golf Club player Carol Wilson slashed three strokes off her home-course women's record with a round of four-under-par 68 to win the Aberdeenshire women's county open meeting this week.
The previous record of 71 was held by clubmate Donna Pocock.
Carol's figures were:
OUT: 3 4 4 4 3 5 4 3 4 - 34.
IN: 4 4 4 4 5 4 2 3 4 - 34
She had birdies at the first, fourth, eighth, 16th and 17th with only one bogey, at the 12th. The CSS for the competition was 76.
Carol, whose handicap has come down to two after her splendid score, also holds the women's course records at Kemnay (72) and Ballater (66).
