Krystle has seven birdies in final
round to finish fifth in Ireland
Rookie pro Krystle Caithness from Fife finished fifth in the weather-hit AIB Irish Ladies Open at Portmarnock links near Dublin today. Yet, with a little bit of luck, the Scot might well have gone close to her first pro win.
Krystle scored 71, 69 and 70 for a total of six-under-par 210 - five shots behind the winner, Italy's Diana Luna who scored 68, 69 and 68 for 11-under 215.
But a close examination of Miss Caithness's final scorecard reveals that she had a double bogey 67 at the 10th and also dropped single shots at the first, second and 17th in halves of 36 and 34.
Krystle also had an amazing bag of seven birdies - at the third, sixth, 11th, 12th, 13th, 15th and 16th.
Forget about the shots dropped and Krystle could almost have forced a play-off with Luna on 205.
