Royal St David's, Harlech from June 9 to 13

Thirteen Scots in field for Ladies

British open amateur championship

There are 13 Scots in the maximum field of 144, handicaps 3 or better, for the Ladies British open amateur championship at Royal St David's Golf Club, Harlech in North Wales from June 9 to 13.
They are:
Carly Booth (Comrie), Megan Briggs (Kilmacolm), Louise Kenney (Pitreavie), Kelsey MacDonald (Nairn Dunbar), Katy McNicoll (Carnoustie), Laura Murray (Alford), Roseanne Niven (Crieff), Emily Ogilvy (Auchterarder), Pamela Pretswell (Bothwell Castle), Jane Turner (Craigielaw), Kylie Walker (Buchanan Castle), Rebecca Watson (Holston Hills, USA), Sally Watson (Elie & Earlsferry Ladies).
The last Scot to win the prestigious title was Alison Rose, now Mrs Alison Davidson, from Stirling. She beat compatriot Mhairi McKay (Turnberry) 4 and 3 in the 18-hole final at Cruden Bay in 1997.
