E12,000 + clothing sponsorship

FROM THE LADIES EUROPEAN TOUR
Henderson Global Investors today announced the three players who will be this year’s Ladies European Tour Henderson Rookies.
Anna Nordqvist (Sweden), Christel Boeljon (Holland) and Krystle Caithness (Scotland), pictured in that order on the right, will be collectively referred to as the ‘2009 Henderson Rookies.’ Each will wear Henderson-branded clothing when they compete throughout the 2009 season in more than 20 countries.
Henderson Global Investors recently acquired the former LET sponsor New Star Asset Management. As a result, Henderson now sponsors the LET Official Money List, known as the Henderson Money List, the 2009 Rookies, known as The 2009 Henderson Rookies and the LET Headquarters at the Buckinghamshire Golf Club, renamed as Henderson House.
As part of its sponsorship of the Ladies European Tour, Henderson contributes €56,000 to the annual player bonus pool. From this the Henderson Rookies receive €12,000 each to help them in their first year as professional golfers while the remaining €20,000 is awarded to the winner of the Henderson Money List.

The standard of golf on the LET continues to improve every year and this sponsorship will give the rookies the best possible start to life on the LET. *Michele Thomson (McDonald Ellon) is going to miss her first cut on the Ladies European Tour later today. She has had rounds of 77 and 79 for a 36-hole tally of 156 in the Ladies German Open near Munich. In her 79, Michele had double bogeys at two early long holes, the third and the fifth.
The projected cut figure is that players will need to total 146 or better to make the last two rounds. Krystle Caithness (72-73) and Lynn Kenny (68-77) are both safe on 145 and so too is Clare Queen who has scored 69 and 75 for 144.
