Jodi Ewart joint fifth behind record-
setting winner on Hawaii
English stroke-play champion Jodi Ewart (New Mexico University) from Yorkshire finished joint fifth behind record-setting winner Jane Chin (UC Irvine) in the Kent Youel Invitational women's college tournament over the Kapolei course, Honolulu on Hawaii.
Jodi shot scores of 71, 71 and 74 for a par total of 216 over the 6316yd, par-72 course but finished some 13 shots behind Jane Chin, a California girl who won by nine strokes with a tournament record low aggregate of 13-under-par 203 (68-66-69). It was Chin's third individual win in a row.
Freshman Natasha Podmore from Appleton, Cheshire finished joint 7th on 217 (70-69-78) but gained consolation for dropping out of contention for second place on the final day by helping San Francisco University win the team event from a field of 15 squads. New Mexico finished fifth.
