Gemma just outside top
20 at Wilmington,
North Carolina

Glasgow's Gemma Webster (Ohio State University) tied for 22nd place in a field of 60 players for the Women's Landfall Tradition college tournament at Country Club of Landfall, Wilmington in North Carolina.
Former Scotland cap Gemma, pictured on right, who has also represented her country at hockey and athletics, had rounds of 81, 75 and 76 for a total of 232.
Dolores White (Wake Forest) was the individual winner with 75, 73 and 70 for 218.
Wake Forest (880) won the team title from second-placed Ohio State (908) in a field of 12 teams.
Alan Glynn (Zavier University) from Middlesex improved from a tie for 31st place to a final position of joint 19th in a field of 60 players for the Men's Landfall Tradition tournament at the same venue as the women.
Alan scored 77, 80 and 71 for a 12-over-par total of 228. Rafael Compes (Virginia Commonwealth) won the individual honours with scores of 75, 71 and 71 for 217.



ANNA NORDQVIST KEEPS WINNING
British women's open amateur champion Anna Nordqvist from Sweden, a student at Arizona State University, won the Derby Invitational women's college event over the Auburn University golf course in Alabama.
Anna scored 70, 67 and 70 for a nine-under-par total of 207. She won by four shots from Arizona State team-mate and former British girls champion, Spain's Azahara Munoz, and Whitney Neuhauser (Virginia). Azahara scored 72, 70 and 69, Whitney 69, 71 and 71. There was a field of 90 players.
