Ellon's Kevin Duncan top Scot
at Crystal Lake in Georgia
Kevin Duncan from Ellon, Aberdeenshire, a second-year student at Clayton State University, Atlanta, finished top of the five Scots competing in this week's State Farm-Laker Collegiate Classic at Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club, Hampton in Georgia.
Kevin, pictured right, had rounds of 66, 74 and 79 for three-over-par 219 and 19th place in a field of 84 players.
Duncan's 66 saw him lead the field at the end of the first round. It was the lowest score by anyone over the 54 holes.
Another Ellon player, Grant Carnie (Brevard College), beaten in a play-off last week, had to settle for a share of 38th place on 223. He started slowly with a 79 and a pair of 72s after that showed what he was capable of producing.
Neil McBride (Clayton State) from Glasgow finished tied 46th on 225 with scores of 75, 72 and 78.
Aberdonian Tom Rennie, a member of the Deeside club and a freshman student at Brevard College, came 77th on 235 with scores of 80, 75 and 80.
Craig Galloway (Brevard College) from West Lothian came 81st equal with 82, 74 and 88 for 244.
Jordan Walor (UNC-Pembroke) was the winner with a five-under-par total of 211 (70-69-72) over a longish course at 7,202yd with a par of 72.
West Florida (864) won the team event ahead of UNC-Pembroke (870) with Clayton State sharing third place on 871 with Georgia College.
Brevard College came 11th of 14 teams with a total of 901.
ARBROATH STUDENT FINISHES JOINT

Again a course in excess of 7,000 yd with a par of 72 and the winner, Patrick Barrett (North Carolina) played brilliantly to win by six shots with a 14-under-par total of 130, made up of 66 and 64.
Jamie Blake scored 72 and 70 for 142 and David McGregor 73 and 74 for 147.
