North Berwick's Diane and Abigail
win SLGA Adult & Girl Foursomes
Diane Huish, wife of the long-serving North Berwick professional David, teamed up with Abigail Twist, a junior member of the same club, to win the top prize at the Scottish Ladies Golfing Association's Adult & Girl foursomes at Kilspindie Golf Club, East Lothian.
Diane, who plays off eight, and Abigail, a 21-handicapper had 38 Stableford points, the same total as the Category 1 winners from West Kilbride, Keith Howie, secretary of the Scottish Senior Golf Society, and his daughter Rachel. The North Berwick pair won the card countback for overall first place.
Category 2 was won by Mike Connor (Mortonhall) and Louise Connor (Kilspindie) with 36pt and a better last six.
Category 3 winners were the Kilspindie pairing of Gurmit Singh and Nandini Nagra with 34pt.
Category 4 was won by Graham Finlayson and Mhairi Finlayson, both of the Glen club, North Berwick, with 25pt.
Not among the prizewinners but worthy of a mention was Kirsty Morrison (Kilspindie) who set a record as the youngest every competitor in the tournament. She had her seventh birthday on September.
