STRONG SCOTS QUARTET FOR EURO
CHAMPIONSHIP AT MURCAR LINKS

By COLIN FARQUHARSON
Scotland will field a strong quartet in the European girls' golf team championship to be hosted by Murcar Links Golf Club and organised by the Scottish Ladies Golfing Association from July 8 to 12.
Two Curtis Cup players, Carly Booth (Comrie) and Sally Watson (Elie & Earlsferry Ladies), will play alongside Kelsey MacDonald (Nairn Dunbar), leading qualifier in the recent Scottish women's amateur championship, and 16-year-old Sammy Vass, the Tain girl who beat Kelsey in the first round of the match-play. Sammy is pictured right by Cal Carson Golf Agency (all rights reserved).
The North-east's "Big Two," Curtis Cup player Michele Thomson (McDonald Ellon) and Laura Murray (Alford), are in the Scotland squad of six for the European women's amateur team championship to be played in Sweden, also from July 8 to 12.
A second Curtis Cup player, Krystle Caithness (St Regulus) makes the trip to Stenungsund Golf Club and St Rule Trophy winner Kylie Walker (Buchanan Castle) should also be a mainstay in the squad if she can keep her early-season form going into the summer.
Pamela Pretswell (Bothwell Castle), unable to play in the "Scottish" because of university exams, is included and Louise Kenney (Pitreavie) is back in favour after a good run at Lossiemouth.
