Pamela Pretswell leading Scot at Pyle & Kenfig

NIAMH KITCHING LEADS BY FOUR

IN WELSH OPEN STROKE-PLAY

Niamh Kitching, 23-year-old Irish player from the Claremorris club, has built up a commanding four-stroke lead with one round to play on Sunday in the Welsh women's open amateur stroke-play championship at Pyle & Kenfig Golf Club between Swansea and Cardiff.

Niamh (pictured right by Cal Carson Golf Agency, all rights reserved) who has been showing good form in Ireland has had rounds of 77 and 73 for 150.

Next best is Kym Larratt (England) who finished high up in last weekend's "Helen Holm." Here she has had scores of 80 and 74 for 154.

Pamela Pretswell (Bothwell Castle and Glasgow University) is Scotland's leading player on 162 - 12 shots off the pace.
