Laura Cutler (Jacksonville State University) from Nottingham was in joint second place after a high-scoring first round in the Women's Ohio Valley Conference Championship at The Shoals Golf Club, Florence in Alabama.
Over the 6154yd, par-72 course, a five-over-par 77 by Chelsea Harris (Austin Peay State University) was good enouogh to lead by one shot from Laura Culter (pictured right, all rights reserved) and two Murray State University students, Alexandra Hintregger and Megan McKinney.
Portia Abbot (Jacksonville State) from Wiltshire had an 80 to be in joint eighth place.
Andrew Downer (Murray State) from Surrey was in joint 23rd place in a field of 39 on the 85 mark.
