Two Great Danes lead in South African
Telkom Women's Classic

Johannesburg 13 March 2008.
Two Danish players, Lisa Holm Sorensen and Julie Tvede, are joint leaders on 10-under-par 134 after the second round of the Telkom Women’s Classic played at Zwartkop Country Club today.
Sorensen stuck to her overnight game plan of starting out steady and then launching an attack.
She birdied the par-3 third from 6ft and also the fourth where she chipped. A third birdie followed at the sixth where her approach shot with an eight-iron stopped a yard from the stick and she holed the putt on her way to being three under par for her first nine holes.
Sorensen's first bogey came on the par-4 10th hole where she overshot the green with her approach shot and didn’t manage to get up and down but she made consecutive birdies at the 13th and 14th. she bogeyed the 16th. Her final birdie came at the long 18th despite driving into a fairway bunker. She wedged her third shot to within 3ft of the hole and sank the putt for a four-under-par 68 to add to her first-day 66.
“I don’t want to throw shots away tomorrow, and will be using a similar game plan: I will play steady until I feel comfortable, and then begin my attack” said a tired Sorensen.
Meanwhile Sorensen’s best friend and compatriot Julie Tvede had a bogey-free 66 after an opening round of 68.
Teeing off at the 10th, birdied the 14th, 18th, first, fifth and sixth.
“Lisa and I made a joke last night that I should shoot –6 under and she would shoot –4 under for today so that we could play in the final round together – so it will be really nice tomorrow”, mentioned a happy Tvede.
Overnight leader Norwegian Marianne Skarpnord, overnight leader with a superb 62, finished with a 74 for 136 and fourth place. She had a nightmare 7 at the long 13th after birdieing the par-5 11th.
Hitting her tee shot into the rough, she underclubbed her second shot into a water hazard.
Her fourth shot was lifted by the wind and overshot the green by a good 25ft from where she required three more shots to get down.
“I was very angry with myself, I couldn’t believe it. But tomorrow is a new day and new round. I am positive, always positive and will go out tomorrow and do better,” said Skarpnord.
One shot back from the leaders is Sweden’s Emma Zackrisson . She had a second-round 66.
Rebecca Hudson from Doncaster is the leading British player in joint sixth place with South Africa Stacy Bregman on 138 - only four shots off the pace and by no means out of it.
