CLAIRE AND ANNA HELP GEORGIA

STATE WIN LADY JAGUAR TEAM TITLE


Georgia State's English students, Claire Starkie, pictured right, from Skipton, Yorkshire and Anna Scott from Consett, Co Durham helped their university win the team event in the Lady Jaguar Invitational college tournament at Forest Hills Golf Club, Augusta in Georgia.

Claire finished joint eighth in a field of 29 with scores of 76 and 77 for a total of 153 over a par-72 course of 6,123yd. Anna had a pair of 77s for 10th place on 154.
Georgia State team-mate Iliska Verwey won the individual title by three strokes with 74 and 70 for level par 144.
Georgia State totalled 600, one ahead of Augusta State. Third-placed Wofford College were way back on 641 in a field of five teams.
