SCOTT BORROWMAN GETS LATE CALL TO
WORLD STUDENT GOLF IN THAILAND
Scottish youths champion Scott Borrowman (Stirling University) has received a late call into the Great Britain golf squad for the World University Games golf tournament in Thailand next week.
Borrowman takes the place of the new English amateur champion Daniel Willett (Rotherham & Jacksonville State University) whose selection for the GB&I Walker Cup team means he will be required to stay in this country to take part in the build-up for the match against the Americans at Royal County Down in early September.
Scott, pictured right, a member of Dollar Golf Club, joins fellow-Scots Gavin Dear, also Stirling University, and Emma Fairnie (Edinburgh University) in a squad of seven who will be managed by Raleigh Gowrie of Stirling University.
The World University Games golf tournament will be played over four days - August 14 to 17 - some distance away from the central Games venue of Bangkok.
