Ladies Golf Union Press Release
JUNIOR TEAM TO TAKE ON VAGLIANO
TROPHY PLAYERS at NORTH BERWICK
The Ladies’ Golf Union has named a squad of eight juniors to compete at North Berwick from 12 to 14 October against a selection of the players who were in the recent Vagliano Trophy match at St Andrews.
Due to the unavailability of certain players, first reserve, Florentyna Parker and fourth reserve, Michelle Thomson have been drafted into the Vagliano squad.
From those available, a junior squad was selected that includes Henrietta Brockway and Kelly Tidy, the two finalists in the Girls’ British Open Championship at Southerndown and their English colleague, County Durham’s 18-year-old Ellie Givens, the winner of the English Girls’ title at Old Fold Manor.
Scotland are represented by their Under-18 girls’ champion Carly Booth, Megan Briggs, the losing finalist in that championship at Peterhead, Sally Watson, 16, who played all four rounds in the recent Ricoh British Women’s Open, and Pamela Pretswell, the Lanarkshire women's champion.
Lisa Maguire, a 12-year-old Irish twin and one of the semi-finalists in the Girls’ British Championship, completes the squad
