GIRLS' MATCH-PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP
Samantha Leslie (Westhill) and Lauren MacCallum (McDonald Ellon) were contesting the final of the Paul Lawrie girls' match-play championship, being held in conjunction with the Aberdeenshire girls' championship, at Peterculter Golf Club, near Aberdeen today.
In the morning semi-finals in windy conditions, Samantha beat Lauren Whyte (Aberdeen Ladies) by 2 and 1.
The same margin of victory was recorded by Lauren in the second semi-final against Mhairi Johnstone (Northern).
In the handicap championship, the finalists were Lauren MacCallum's younger sister, Kirsten, who has brought her handicap down from 36 to 22 this season, and Sophie Alexander (Deeside), who plays off nine.
In the semi-finals, Kirsten MacCallum beat Eleanor Franks (Ballater), playing off 18, by 5 and 4.
Sophie Alexander beat Kirstin Seam (Torphins), playing off 15, by one hole.
