HAMMER OF SCOTS HENRIETTA
GOES ON TO WIN BRITISH
GIRLS' CHAMPIONSHIP

Yeovil's Henrietta Brockway, conqueror of Scotland's Sally Watson and Carly Booth, won the British girls' open amateur golf championship at Southerndown Golf Club, South Wales this afternoon.
In an all-England final the 17-year-old beat Manchester's Kelly Tidy by 4 and 3 after winning the first five holes of the final.
Tidy broke her duck by winning the ninth but went back to five down when Brockway won the 11th.
Tidy when won the 12th and 13th to cut her deficit to three holes before Brockway won the 15th for a 4 and 3 victory.
Brockway was the 24th qualifier for the match-play stages and Tidy the 18th.
Brockway did not play for England in last week's girls' home internationals at the same venue.

Semi-finals - H Brockway (Yeovil) bt S Monberg (Denmark) 4 and 2, K Tidy (Manchester) bt Lisa Maguire (Slieve Russell, Ireland) 5 and 4.
Final - Brockway bt Tidy 4 and 3.
