LIZ BENNETT WINS BY SEVEN AT PORTERS PARK
Hampshire’s Liz Bennett turned on a birdie blitz to win the Porters Park Centenary Cup by seven shots. The GB&I international from Brokenhurst Manor had 15 birdies in her two rounds and was nine-under par at the end of the day’s play.
Liz had eight birdies in her morning round and seven in the afternoon. Her closest rival was Vagliano Trophy and Hampshire colleague, Kerry Smith of Waterlooville, who shot 75, 69.
In third place on 147 was Emma Lyons (West Surrey) (75-72) followed on 148 by Jenny Pease (Braintree) (73-75) and, on 149, Laura Cutler (Warley Park) (72-77).
The CSS was 73 for both rounds.
