WELL, WAS THAT 'NO DOGS OR WOMEN ALLOWED'
SIGN AT ELIE, NOT ST ANDREWS?
Scroll down and you'll read Annika Sorenstam's reference last week at a US Women's Open Press Conference to what she remembers was a sign at the R&A clubhouse, "No Dogs or Women Allowed."
We invited any reader who could vouch for the fact that such a sign ever existed - Annika played in the St Rule Trophy as an amateur at St Andrews in 1988 and 1989.
This is our first response:
"As far as I’m aware the ‘No Dogs or Women Allowed' sign was at Elie Golf Club – and not St Andrews." -- Claire
Editor's Note: If the sign had been at Elie, then Annika Sorenstam would not have seen it ... if she did see it.
