VIKKI MISSES FUTURES CUT AT SYRACUSE

US-based Vikki Laing from Musselburgh failed to take advantage of perfect scoring conditions and was on the wrong side of the 36-hole cut in the Futures Tour's Alliance Bank Classic at The Links at Erie Village, Syracuse in New York State on Saturday.
Vikki had rounds of 74 and 77 for a total of nine-over-par 151 over the 6,206yd, par-71 course. That was one stroke too many to qualify for the final round.
Polly Willett from London was the only British player to beat the cut. She had a second-round 69 for 146.
Brenda McLarnon from Belfast finished on 152 with 74 and 78 while South Wales amateur Natasha Morgan, a student at Lynn University, Boca Raton in Florida had 82 and 80 for 162.
Most of the leaders broke 70 on a day when there was little or no wind and Friday's rain had left the greens soft and holding. Temperatures touched 77 degrees.
Cortney Reno (Michigan) jumped two shots clear at four-under-par 138 with a 68.
