No Americans in semi-finals of HSBC tournament


MARIA HJORTH LONE EUROPEAN
IN LAST FOUR OF WOMEN'S WORLD MATCH-PLAY

Only one European has made it through to the last four of the HSBC women's world professional match-play championship at New Rochelle, New York State - Sweden's big-hitting Maria Hjorth, pictured right, courtesy of the Ladies European Tour, a graduate of Stirling University in the early years of its golf scholarship scheme.
"Mimi," as she is known on the LPGA Tour, will play the Japanese ace, Ai Miyasato, for a place in the final against either Seon Hwa Lee or Mi Hyun Kim.
The winner of the final will receive $500,000 from the $2 million purse. The runner-up will get $300,000. Third place is worth $200,000 and fourth $150,000. The losing quarter-finalists received $50,000 and the third-round losers got $25,000. Here are Saturday's results:

THIRD ROUND
