STIRLING PLAYER JUST FAILS TO WIN BRITISH
STUDENTS' STROKE-PLAY GOLF TITLE

Stirling student David Booth just failed to win the weather-hit British Universities Sports Association men's individual stroke-play golf championship.
The 72-hole competition began at De Vere Slaley Golf Club, Hexham in Northumberland but was completed at Seaton Carew Golf Club, Hartlepool because of flooding at the first venue.
Overhead conditions were awful throughout the tournament and only 20 competitors completed four rounds.
Booth scored 75, 79, 79 and 75 for a total of 15-over-par 312. He failed by one stroke to catch the winner, Craig Wilkinson (Northumbria) who had scores of 69, 77, 79 and 86,
Roberto Laino (Durham) was third on 316 and Jonny Watt (Stirling) fourth on 318.
