MIDLANDS WIN MID WEST VETS TROPHY MATCH
IN NAIL-BITING FINISH AT SCHAWPARK, ALLOA

The Mid West Vets Trophy match was played in perfect summer conditions on the very attractive Schawpark course in Alloa.
West were represented by Carol Fell, Jennifer Graham, Elinor Grant,Elspeth Dewar, Sandra Gilchrist, Anne Mackellar and Sheila Shaw.
Midlands were represented by Jean Bald, Sheila Travers, LizCunningham, Eva Muller-Allan, Fiona Campbell, Fiona Glass and Danuta McLachlan.
It was a tight match producing many good games and culminating in a nail-biting finish with everyone gathered round for the last putt on the last green.
Midlands won 4-3.
Although it was a home game for the Midlands team, only their captain, Sheila Travers, is a member of Alloa.
West Vets would like to thank Sheila and her players for their friendly welcome and hospitality. West Captain Pat Walker, was sorry to leave the Mid West Trophy behind but she has already vowed thatthe team will try harder next year !
