ROSEANNE'S FORM SLUMPS IN UTAH
Scottish Under-18 girls' match-play champion Roseanne Niven's recent upsurge of form has nosedived in the NCAA Division 1 West Regional championship at Entrada at Snow Canyon Golf Club, St George in Utah.
A student at the University of California Berkeley for five months, Roseanne had a first-round, 13-over-par 84 to be lying joint 105th in the field of 108 behind leader Pernilla Lindberg (Oklahoma State). The Swedish player set the pace with a fine round of three-under-par 678 over the 6,274yd, par-71 course.
Jodi Ewart (New Mexico) from Catterick was lying in joint sixth place after a 71.
Ireland's Dawn-Marie Conaty (Memphis) had an 82 to be sharing 69th place.
LATER NEWS: Starting at the 10th hole in her second round, Roseanne covered her first nine holes in 12-over-par 48, including two triple bogeys and two double bogeys.
