JUDITH ANDERSON THROUGH TO LAST FOUR
OF BORDER COUNTIES CHAMPIONSHIP

Hawick’s Judith Anderson, chasing an eighth Border Ladies County Golf Association championship, is through to the semi-finals of the tournament at The Roxburghe Golf Club, Kelso.
Judith, the No 2 seed, now plays Gillian Oliver (St Boswell). In the other semi-final, Sharon Lees (Kelso), the No 1 qualifier, will play Phillipa Costello (Hirsel).

First round – Sharon Lees (Kelso) bt Ailsa Mitchell (Hawick) 4 and 2, Anne Dods (Torwoodlee) w.o. Dorothy Elliot (Minto) scr, Lesley Atkins (Minto) bt Lynn Douglas (Hawick) 2 holes, Phillipa Costello (Hirself) bt Sheila Cuthbertson (Peebles) 12 hole, Kirsty Inkpen (Duns) bt Isla Craigie (Torwoodlee) at 19th, Gillian Oliver (St Boswell) bt Julie Birdsall (Roxburghe) 4 and 3, Liz Campbell (Torwoodlee) bt Wendy Wells (Peebles) 7 and 6, Judith Anderson (Hawick) bt Pauline Hogg (Jedburgh) 6 and 5.
Quarter-finals – Lees bt Dods 2 and 1, Costello bt Aitkins 4 and 3, Oliver bt Inkpen 4 and 3, Anderson bt Campbell 4 and 3.
