JENNA, QUEEN OF SCOTS, WANTS TO
BECOME A TOUR PRO RATHER THAN
DEFEND TITLE AT LOSSIEMOUTH

New Scottish women's amateur champion Jenna Wilson, 22, from Strathaven will be delighted if she can't defend the title at Moray Golf Club, Lossiemouth next May.
That doesn't mean she is not thrilled to bits to follow in the footsteps of legendary players such as Helen Holm, Jessie Valentine, Belle Robertson and Janette Wright and put her own name alongside them in the golfing history books.
"I wouldn't have missed this past week at Barassie for anything ... being the No 1 qualifier and winning my way through to the final and then beating Emily Ogilvy 2 and 1 ... but I see my future as a tournament professional," said Jenna who was introduced to golf by her grandfather 11 years ago.
"So I hope to do well in the British women's amateur championship at Alwoodley next month but the target is to go back to the Ladies European Tour Qualifying School - and this time win my players' card for next season. I failed last year but I am determined to make it at the second attempt.
"Karyn Dallas, my coach, has been working hard with me and I think I'm still improving."
Championship runner-up Emily Ogilvy, 23, has not ruled out the possibility of going with Jenna Wilson - and Heather MacRae, beaten semi-finalist for the second year in a row - to the LET Qualifying School near the end of the year.
"I'm going to play full-time amateur golf throughout the summer. If I have a very good season, and this has been a good start, reaching the final of the Perth & Kinross county championship and then the final of the Scottish championship, then I will probably have a go at becoming a tour pro. This would be the right time for me to do it, but only if I think I am good enough a golfer," said Dunning-based Emily.
