JACQUELINE SNEDDON HEADS P&K QUALIFIERS AGAIN
Alyth’s Jacqueline Sneddon topped the 16 qualifiers for the match-play stages of the Perth & Kinross women’s county championship at Kinross today for the second year in a row.
On a day of non-stop rain, when the greens had to be repeatedly swept clear of excess water and the course played very long with no run on the ball, Jacqueline’s score of 82 was matched by Emily Ogilvy (Auchterarder) but the Alyth player was declared the top seed of a card countback.
The match-play starts over the same course at 9.28 on Saturday morning with the quarter-finals teeing off from 2.0. The semi-finals and final will be played on Sunday.
All three members of the Sneddon family who played in the qualifying round won their way through to the match-play. Apart from daughter Jacqueline, mother Jennifer and sister Jillian made it through in the handicap championship and could meet in the semi-finals.
