IT'S LAURA MURRAY v MICHELE THOMSON
FOR THE ABERDEENSHIRE CHAMPIONSHIP

Youngsters Laura Murray (Alford) and Michele Thomson (McDonald Ellon) will meet in the final of the Aberdeenshire women's county championship over the windswept Newmachar Hawkshill course this afternoon.
Laura, the leading qualifier who became a scratch player earlier in the week, beat Sheena Wood (Aberdeen Ladies), a former Scotland cap and several times county champion, by 6 and 5 in the first semi-final this morning.
Michele, North of Scotland women's champion for the past two years, beat the No 2 qualifier, Sara Thomson (Murcar Links) by 3 and 1.
Laura was Scottish schoolgirls champion in 2005. Neither Laura or Michele has ever won the Aberdeenshire title. Laura lost in the final in 2005.

Semi-finals
Laura Murray (Alford) bt Sheena Wood (Aberdeen Ladies) 6 and 5.
Michele Thomson (McDonald Ellon) bt Sara Thomson (Murcar Links) 3 and 1.
