DOUBLE BOGEY KNOCKS BACK CLARE
IN BMW ITALIAN LADIES OPEN

A double bogey 7 at the long seventh knocked Clare Queen back to a share of 17th place in the third round of the BMW Italian Ladies Open ov er the Sheraton Golf Parco de Medici course in Rome today.
Clare had earlier moved one under par with a birdie at the fifth. Later she birdied the 16th and bogeyed the 18th in halves of 36 and 37 for a one-over-par 73 and a running total of five-under-par 211.
As she said before the round, Clare is still not holing the birdie chances she is setting up but a top-10 finish is still within her reach with a sub-par final round.
At the top of the leaderboard, a big gallery was assured for the Saturday finale with two Italians, veteran Stefania Croce and rookie Anna Rossi in first and second position after 54 holes.

Stefania had a third-round 69 for 11-under-par 205. Anna had a 69 for 206. In third place on 207 are Becky Brewerton from Wales, Trish Johnson from England and Sophie Giquel of France.
