CLARE QUEEN WINS 7,577 EUROS FOR JT
13th PLACE IN LADIES' SWISS OPEN

Clare Queen (Carrick at Cameron House) earned herself Euros 7,577 for a joint 13th place finish in the Deutsche Bank Ladies Swiss Open at Golf Gerre Losone, Switzerland today.
Clare, pictured right, had rounds of 73, 71, 76 and 70 for two-over-par 290. In her final round she birdied the third, fourth and eighth and dropped only one shot at the fourth. After her birdie at the eighth she covered the remaining 10 holes in level par with a regulation figure at each.
Kathryn Imrie finished a shot behind her compatriot on three-over 291 with scores of 76, 73, 698 and 73. Kathryn's patchy last round had birdies at the eighth, 11th and 15th but a double bogey at the ninth and single bogeys at the third and fifth.

Miss Imrie earned Euros 6,702.
At the top of the leaderboard there was a three-way play-off for the title at the first prize of 45,018 Euros.
It was won by 24-year-old German Bettina Hauert who thus scored her maiden professional win. She birdied the last seven holes she played, the 16th, 17th and 18th to return a fourth-round 72 and then a birdie at each of the four play-off holes, all of them halved except the last one.

Inverness-based Liz McKinnon finished joint 25th on 292 with scores of 70, 73, 76 and 73. She earned 5,670 Euros and this performance will maybe give her the confidence to reproduce the amateur form that won her New Zealand titles.
The other play-off contestants were Paula Marti (Spain) who had birdied the 17th and 18th to get into the play-off and Anna Rawson (Australia) who birdied the 18th to tie on 285.
