CHRISTINE McANDREW IS HIGHLAND VETS' CHAMPION

Christine McAndrew (Nairn Dunbar) has earned herself a place in the quarter-finals of the Scottish Veteran Ladies Golf Association championship at Blairgowrie in the autumn by winning the Highland veterans' title.
Christine, pictured far right receiving the trophy from Highland veterans' captain Iris Wilson (Forres), beat Winnie Ross by 2 and 1 in the final at Inverness Golf Club.
Results:
Semi-finals - Christine McAndrew (Nairn Dunbar) bt Mary Smith (Tain) 2 and 1; Winnie Ross (Elgin) bt Vivien Welsh (Elgin) at 19th.
Final - McAndrew bt Ross 2 and 1.
