PORTIA HELPS JACKSONVILLE
STATE LEAD IN OHIO
VALLEY CHAMPIONSHIP

Portia Abbot from Wiltshire, has helped Jacksonville State University, to lead by two shots with one round to play in the Ohio Valley Conference women's championship at Drake Creek Golf Club, Ledbetter in Kentucky.
Over the par-72, 6,178yd course, Portia, pictured above, had a birdie-less round of 75, an improvement of seven shots on her opening round. She bogeyed the first, sixth and 17th on her way to a 36-hole tally of 157 which put her in joint third place behind leader Katelyn Stanier (Samford), who has shot 75 and 74 for 149, seven strokes ahead of second-placed Andrea Downer (Murray State) (80-76).

Jacksonville State (629) lead the team event from Murray State (631) and Samford (641) in the eight-team field.
