NOT A GOOD DAY AT THE OFFICE FOR
JODI EWART IN 'MOUNTAIN WEST'

Jodi Ewart from Middleham, Yorkshire, a freshman student at New Mexico University, was sharing 12th place at the end of the first round in the Mountain West Conference women's college championship at Entrada at Snow Canyon golf course, St George in Utah.
Jodi, a member of Catterick Bridge Golf Club, was below her best in returning a six-over-par 77 for the 6,210yd, par-71 course.
She bogeyed the first, second, eighth and ninth to be four over par at the turn. Then came a disastrous double bogey 6 at the 13th and another shot dropped at the 15th. Her only birdie amd at the 17th in halves of 39 and 38.
The lead is shared by Cathering Matranga (Texas Christian) and Rachel Newren (Brigham Young) on one-over 72 in a field of 34 players.
Brigham Young (294) have opened up an early six-shot lead from Texas Christian (300) with New Mexico (314) in third place of the seven competing college teams.
