Thomas has scored 70 and 69 for 139, two shots behind the South African leader, Dawie Van Der Walt (Lamar) who has scored 72 and 65 for seven-under-par 137 over the 7,103yd course.
Peter O'Keeffe (South-east Louisiana) from Cork is sharing sevgenth place on143 with scores of 75 and 68.
Team-mate James Taverner from London is joint 10th on 147 with scores of 74 and 73.
Fergal Rafferty (Sam Houston State) from Carrickmore, Northern Ireland is sharing 20th place on 151 with scores of 76 and 75.
Aaron O'Callaghan (South-east Louisiana) from Cork is in 43rd position in the field of 50 with scores of 77 and 83 for 160.
Lamar (552) have big lead over their nearest challengers, South-east Louisiana (576) with Texas-San Antonio (581) in third place of the 10 teams competing.
