HANNAH AND SIAN IN TOP TEN OF
BIG 12 WOMEN'S CONFERENCE
CHAMPIONSHIP AT WACO

England's Hannah Burke and Sian Reddick, both students at Baylor University, Texas, are still locked together in joint ninth place as the Big 12 Women's Conference Championship m0ves into its third and final round on Wednesday at Ridgewood Country Club, Waco in Texas.
Freshman Hannah, pictured right, from Welwyn Garden City has scored 77 and 77 for 154. She had only one birdie, at the 12th in her second-round 77 (38-39).
Sian, a former English women's amateur stroke-play champion from Folkestone, has also reeled off a pair of 77s. She should have scored in the low 70s second time round because she ran up a quadruple bogey 7 at the short fifth in her second round in which she had only one birdie, at the 10th, in halves of 40 and 37.
Danielle McVeigh, the 2005 Irish girls champion from Kilkeel, Northern Ireland, had a double bogey 5 at the short fifth and a double bogey 6 at the eighth on her way to a second-round 77 for a two-round total of 155. She is in joint 13th position in a field of 60 players. Danielle did birdied the sixth, ninth and 16th in halves of 40 and 37.
Amanda Costner (Kansas) leads by the surprisingly big margin of seven shots even though her total so far is "only" level par 144 after scores of 71 and 73, perhaps an indication that this is a tough course to get birdies.
Oklahoma State (611) lead the team event from Texas A&M (615) with Baylor (619) lying third of the 12 teams in the field.
