ALAN GLYNN JOINT NINTH IN MICHIGAN

Alan Glynn from Middlesex, a student at Xavier Univesity, Cincinnatii, finished joint ninth in the quaintly-named The Fossum by Red Cedar Lodge college tournament at Forest Akers Golf Club, East Lansing, Michigan.
Alan had scores of 66, 72 and 74 for a fur-under-par total of 212 over the par-72, 7,013yd course.
There was a triple tie at the top of the leaderboard on 10-under-par 206 between Jack Newman (Michigan State) (67-72-67), Jason Kokak (Xavier) (69-68-69) and Matt Harmon (Michigan State) (73-66-67).
Michigan State (841) won the team title from Charlotte (855) and Xavier (858) in a field of 13 college squads.

TOM AND BEN MAKE TOP 20 IN VIRGINIA

Georgia State’s English-born students, Tom Sherreard from Maidstone, Kent and Ben Taylor from Hexham, finished joint 12th and joint 17th in the Colonial Athletic Association college championship at The Homestead-Cascades Golf Club, Hot Springs in Virginia.
Sherreard had scores of 75, 76 and 68 – second best score of the third round – for a total of 219 over the par-70, 6,679yd course. Ben had rounds of 73, 72 and 76 for 221.
John Murphy (Old Dominion) won by four shots with an even par total of 210 (69-69-72).
Old Dominion (859) won the team title from Georgia State (863) with Virginia Commonwealth University third of 11 on 872.
