MATHARU DISAPPOINTS IN INDIAN OPEN
AS UNKNOWN AMATEURS (68) LEADS

Indian amateur Megna Bal at 18 the youngest competitor in the field, was the surprise leader by two shots at the end of the inaugural Women's Indian Open at the DLF Golf & Country Club, New Delhi.
Megna, who is bound for the St Lawrence University, Kansas on an economics degree course in the autumn, shot a four-under-par 68.
Kiran Matharu, the English amateur champion who turned pro after last summer's Curtis Cup match, had a disappointing 77 to be in 31st place. Kiran is of Indian extraction.
The only other English player in the field, Fame More, had a 75.
