HANNAH'S LATE SLIPS COST HER CLEAR
SECOND PLACE IN "BETTY RAWLS"

Hannah Burke (Baylor University, Texas) from Hertfordshire bogeyed the seventh and ninth - two of the last three holes she played in the second round - to drop back into a four-way tie for second place in the Betty Rawls Longhorn Invitational women's college tournament at the University of Texas Golf Club near Austin.
Hannah, who had a first-round 74 over the 6,290yd, par-72 course despite a double-bogey 6 at the first hole, started at the 10th in her second circuit. She bogeyed the 15th and 18th but then took off with birdies at the first, third and fifth.
At that point, the English freshman student was in clear second place behind Kelley Louth (Texas University) who posted 69 and 71 for four-under-par 140.
Then came Hannah's bogeys at the seventh and ninth to give her a second-round 73 for a 36-hole tally of three-over-par 147, leaving Kelley Louth seven strokes clear of the field with one round to go.
Baylor team-mate Sian Reddick from Folkestone seems to have no liking for the course. She has had rounds of 84 and 80 for 164. Her first round included a quadruple bogey 8 at the 18th and two double bogeys. Her second round had a pair of double-bogey 6s at the seventh and 15th.
