PARISIENNE GIRL LEADS FIELD
IN LADY PUERTO RICO CLASSIC

Valentine Derrey, the French player who was beaten finalist in the 2004 British girls' open amateur championship at Lanark, led the field after a first-round, five-under-par 67 in the Lady Puerto Rico Classic at Coco Beach, San Juan.
Miss Derrey, pictured right, from Paris and a freshman student at Texas Christian University, was playing in only her second college golf tournament. Her score of 67 equalled the lowest ever returned by a TCU women's golf programme player.
Valentine, who hit 13 greens in regulation and came home in 32, finished two shots ahead of Sweden's Pernilla Lindberg (Oklahoma State).
Irish Curtis Cup international player Tara Delaney (Kent State) shared fifth place on 72 with equal halves of 36.
Her sister Karen did not fare so well. She was joint 78th in a field of 85 going into the second round after halves of 44 and 40 for an 84.
