WOMEN'S HOME INTERNATIONALS

SCOTS LOSE FOURSOMES 2-1 TO IRELAND
AND WALES TAKE LEAD OVER ENGLAND

For the third morning in a row, Scotland lost the foursomes in their final match against Ireland. The Irish took a 2-1 lead into the six singles after Deirdre Smith and Maura Morrin won the 16th and on their way to a 2 and 1 win over Louise Kenney and Krystle Caithness in the third of the foursomes. The match had been all square after 15 holes.
Heather MacRae and Sally Watson lost the top foursome by one hole to Tricia Mangan and Martina Gillen before Jenna Wilson and Martine Pow levelled the overall scoreline with a 3 and 1 win over Danielle McVeigh and Maria Dunne.
Wales took a shock 2-1 lead over England in the foursomes in the title-deciding match.
