US WOMEN'S COLLEGE NEWS


KATE AND CO STRUGGLE TO KEEP UP
WITH TOP US COLLEGE PLAYERS

Paisley’s Kate O’Sullivan (High Point University, North Carolina) and team-mate Jenna Kinnear from Belfast were lying 80th and 81st in a field of 81 players at the end of the second round of the Mason Rudolph women’s college championship over the par-72, 6,347yd course at Vanderbilt Legends Club, Franklin in Tennessee.
Kate, pictured right, has scored 80 and 82 for 162 while Jenna’s rounds have been 85 and 86 for 171.
Team-mate Ann Marie Dalton from Carlow, Ireland was in joint 65th place on 157 with scores of 81 and 76.
The High Point trio have been out of their depth, playing with some of the best female college players in the States, including two members of the winning US Curtis Cup team earlier this summer – Jennie Lee (Duke) and Taylor Leon (Georgia)..
Tiffany Joh (UCLA) and Jennie Lee share the lead on six-under-par 138 while Taylor Leon is one of three players sharing third place on 141.
