US COLLEGE GOLF

CARNOUSTIE GIRL THIRD IN US
COLLEGE TOURNAMENT

Katy McNicoll from Carnoustie, an 18-year-old second-year student at Lynn University, Boca Ration in Florida, finished third in the Lady Falcon Invitational college tournament.
Katy had rounds of 75 and 70 over the par-72, 5,937yd Riviera County Club course at Ormond Beach, Florida for a one-under-par aggregate of 145.
She finished three shots behind Ashley Kozlowski (Stetson University) who scored 72 and 70 for 142 and one behind runner-up Tara Allen (Embry-Riddle College) (73-70).
The first four finishers all shot three-under-par 70s in the second round – the lowest score of the 36-hole tournament.
Katy’s fine effort also helped Lynn University to catch first-round leaders Bethune-Cookman College and win the team event by four strokes with a total of 599. Teams from 12 colleges took part.
